UAE Warriors 15 is set for Abu Dhabi on January 15th. The event will commemorate the life of Abdulmanap Nurmagedov, the father of Khabib Nurmagedov who passed away in 2020, and there will be several Russian fighters on the card.
In the main event Bruno Machado (14-9) will defend his lightweight title. The Brazilian is coming off wins at UAE Warriors 6, UAE Warriors 7 and UAE Warriors 12 with the most recent victory earning him the 155lbs belt.
Among the Russian fighters on the card is Shamil Zavurov (38-6–1). The former M-1 welterweight champion is Khabib Nurmagedov’s cousin and will be competing for the first time since 2019.
A possible opponent for Zavurov is French welterweight Mickael Lebout (20-10-3). The UFC veteran will be making his promotional debut on January 15th.
Meanwhile Armenia’s Martun Mezhlumyan (11-2) has been handed a quick turnaround after his loss at UAE Warriors 14. The Moscow based fighter can compete at lightweight or welterweight.
Also representing Russia is Saygid Izagakhmaev who competes at 170lbs too. Algeria’s Elias Boudegzdame (16-6) will be on the card and he can fight at either bantamweight or featherweight.
