Shevchenko, whose sister is also a successful UFC fighter, discussed the role that Muay Thai had played in her MMA career,
“Last six or seven years Tiger Muay Thai has been the gym that I represent, that I fight for.”
She was asked by Rogan what she liked about it and replied without hesitation,
“The spirit. What is Muay Thai? It’s Thailand, it’s the spirit of Thailand.”
She talked about the importance of spending an extended period of time at the camp instead of just flying in for a week or two of training,
“Explore the culture, explore the food, explore what’s around. If you want to put yourself on the next level you have to train but also to stick with the people.”
