Weili Zhang will make the first defence of her strawweight title at UFC 248. The Chinese fighter faces former champion Joanna Jędrzejczyk at the T-Mobile Arena on March 7th (local time).
Zhang (20-1) earned the title by stopping Jessica Andrade at UFC Shenzhen in August. The 30 year old has won four fights out of four for the promotion but will not have a hometown advantage in her next bout.
Jędrzejczyk (16-3) is the former strawweight champion and a veteran of 13 UFC fights. The Polish kickboxer challenged unsuccessfully for the flyweight title last year before dropping back to the division in which she made her name.
The fight is expected to serve as the co-main event with a headline bout yet to be announced. UFC 248 will be a pay per view card.
