What is Ritu Phogat up to? The wrestler turned mixed martial artist recently shared a photo of herself with comedian turned Bollywood star Kapil Sharma in what appears to be a television studio.
The previous day she shared another photo taken in the same studio alongside a caption which reads,
We’ve got something exciting to announce.
It seems that the exciting announcement might involve one of the country’s most famous comedians:

Of course Phogat is no stranger to the Bollywood industry. She might not be an actor herself but a movie was made about the incredible life story of her and her sisters.
The Bollywood movie entitled Dangal grossed over $300 million USD worldwide which was an Indian box office record at the time. It made Phogat and her sisters into instantly recognizable stars in the country.
Since then Phogat has made the transition from wrestling to MMA and enjoyed some success. She reached the final of the ONE Championship atomweight Grand Prix last year but was submitted by Stamp Fairtex.

Weight difference
Phogat was also beaten by Tiffany Teo in her next fight although the Singaporean did outweigh her by nearly 10lbs on fight night. She received a warning about her weight but that will be no consolation to the Indian who is coming off back to back losses for the first time in her career.
Phogat doesn’t currently have a fight booked but she has been training at Soma MMA in Bali. She has been training alongside newly crowned Matrix Fight Night strawweight champion Puja Tomar.
Since the start of her ONE Championship career she has been based permanently at Evolve MMA in Singapore. But she appears to have been spending a lot of time in India and Indonesia recently.
Last year Phogat got married and shared some romantic wedding photos. She doesn’t appear to currently have a fight booked but the 28 year old certainly seems to have plenty going on.
