Yilan Sha is the latest Chinese fighter to sign with the UFC. He is set to face Joshua Culibao in Las Vegas on May 22nd (local time).

There were four Chinese fighters on last month’s UFC 261 card but they all lost. Sha will be hoping to snap that losing skid when he fights at UFC Vegas 27 this month.

The UFC Performance Institute Shanghai alumni has been competing as a professional since 2016. Having spent virtually his entire career at lightweight he is moving down to 145lbs for this bout.

Sha (19-6) has won seven out of his last eight fights. His only loss during this spell came at the hands of Zhu Rong, one of the four Chinese fighters to lose in Florida last month.

Culibao (8-1-1) is winless in his two UFC bouts to date. The Australian was stopped by Jalin Turner at UFC Auckland and drew with Charles Jourdain at UFC Fight Island 4.

UFC Vegas 27 is set for the Apex Centre in Las Vegas. As previously announced it will feature a strawweight fight pitting Yan Xiaonan against Carla Esparza.

The event will be headlined by a bantamweight bout with #3 ranked Rob Font taking on #3 ranked Cody Garbrandt.
