Anissa Meksen is frustrated! She has been ready to fight for ONE Championship’s atomweight kickboxing title since winning her debut in September.
But according to Meksen the champion is refusing to fight her. She got a message from ONE Championship head honcho Chatri Sityodtong who told her he he couldn’t force current champion Janet Todd to accept the title defence:

Todd fought twice last year but both were non title bouts. She has yet to defend the belt which she won in 2020 and has not been in action since last April.
Meksen returned from an 18 month absence to knock out Cristina Morales at ONE: ‘Empower’ last September. She is currently ranked #4 but is the only fighter in the top five who Todd hasn’t already beaten!
A title fight between Todd and Meksen is clearly the match to make and we hope it can happen sooner rather than later. So does the French fighter by the sounds of it!
