The winner got a belt and the loser got a couple of night’s stay in a Singapore hospital with a couple of metal plates thrown in for good measure. Giorgio Petrosyan took to Instagram to describe the surgery he had undergone after Friday night’s loss to Superbon Banchamek.

He underwent surgery the day after the defeat at ONE: ‘First Strike’:

With the win Superbon claimed the featherweight kickboxing title and firmly put himself in the pound for pound conversation. Petrosyan was left nursing a broken jaw and will be setting off all the airport X-ray machines on his journey back to Italy.

It is an injury that typically takes around six weeks to heal so Petrosyan might not be set for an extended spell on the sidelines due to injury. But with all the top featherweights involved in the ongoing Grand Prix he is unlikely to be back in action any time soon.
