Ulka Sasaki has been removed from the Rizin 15 card. In his place steps fellow UFC veteran Justin Scoggins who is booked to face Kai Asakura at the Yokohama Arena on April 21st.
Scoggins (11-6) was submitted with a leg scissors choke by Yuki Motoya at Rizin 14. It was a fourth straight loss for the American who was also submitted by Sasaki during this period.
He has been handed another matchup with a top ranked Japanese bantamweight. Asakura (12-1) avenged the only loss of his career at Rizin Heisei’s Last Yarennoka! on New Year’s Eve.
Two female flyweight fights were announced today with Kana Watanabe (6-0-1) facing Justyna Haba (1-0) and Shinju Nozawa Auclair (2-1) taking on Saray Orozco (3-2). Meanwhile Karl Albrektsson (8-2) goes up against Christiano Frohlich (10-4) in the light heavyweight division.
As previously announced Kyoji Horiguchi will face Ben Nguyen in a non title match at Rizin 15 while Muhammed Lawal challenges Jiří Procházka for the inaugural light heavyweight belt.
