ONE Championship has added another world-class kickboxing talent to the roster with the signing of Marat Grigorian.

He is the current Glory lightweight champion but will compete at featherweight for the ONE Super Series. The signing is a massive addition to an already-stacked division.

The Singapore-based promotion has been aggressively recruiting world class kickboxing and Muay Thai talent in recent months, with the Armenian-Belgian’s signing following hot on the heels of other big-name arrivals like Davit Kiria, Petchtanong Benchamek, Superbon Banchamek, and Grigorian’s great rival, Sittichai Sitsongpeenong.

Grigorian won the Glory title with a unanimous decision victory over Sitthichai at Glory 65 last year. It was his first win against him and his record against the Thai now stands at 1-3.

With the pair’s encounters showcasing some of the highest-level exchanges in recent memory, they will no doubt be reunited for another clash somewhere down the line in the ONE Super Series. Grigorian also has a 2015 loss to Yodsanklai Fairtex on his record that he might get the opportunity to avenge.

Outside of Sitthichai, there are plenty of other intriguing potential match-ups in store. He has previous with #2 ranked Superbon, whom he knocked out in just 29 seconds back in 2018 to become the Kunlun Fight World Max Tournament Champion.

The real blockbuster affair would see Grigorian matched up with #1 ranked Giorgio Petrosyan. ‘The Doctor’ was crowned ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Grand Prix Champion in October and a win for either athlete would only enhance their respective reputations as two of the very best in the game.
