Rena Kubota has been added to the Rizin 15 card. The 27 year old will face Samantha Jean-Francois at the Yokohama Arena on April 21st.
Rena (7-2) will be looking to bounce back from her decision loss to Kanna Asakura at Rizin 11. She had been strongly linked with ONE Championship but seems set to continue competing in Japan for the time being.
Jean-Francois (3-5) had initially been scheduled to face Rena at Rizin 14. However the bout was cancelled at the last minute when the Japanese fighter had problems with her weight cut.
As previously announced Kyoji Horiguchi will face Ben Nguyen in a non title match at Rizin 15 while Muhammed Lawal challenges Jiří Procházka for the inaugural light heavyweight belt.
Meanwhile Ulka Sasaki has been removed from the Rizin 15 card and replaced by fellow UFC veteran Justin Scoggins. He is booked to face Kai Asakura in a flyweight fight.
