Takashi Sato has a new opponent for UFC on ESPN 12 which takes place this Saturday (local time) in Las Vegas. He will now be facing promotional newcomer Jason Witt after Ramiz Brahimaj was removed from the card.

The UFC announced the change of lineup moments ago, stating that,

“Due to a positive Covid-19 test result from one of his cornermen, Ramiz Brahimaj has been removed from his bout against Takashi Sato. Replacing Brahimaj will be UFC newcomer Jason Witt, pending medical clearance.”

Witt (17-5) has won nine out of his last ten fights. The experienced welterweight has competed for LFA, Titan FC and Bellator.

Sato (15-3) will be relieved to still be on the card. He saw a fight at UFC Auckland fall through when his opponent pulled out at the last minute and has not tasted action since.

The event is headlined by a lightweight bout between Dustin Poirier and Dan Hooker. It will be held behind closed doors at the UFC Apex Centre in Las Vegas.
