The Korean Zombie was not impressed by Alex Volkanovski‘s win at UFC 251. Chan Sun Jung took to Instagram to question the Australian’s credentials and challenge him to a title fight.

It is fair to say that Brian Ortega was not amused. The American is next in line to face The Korean Zombie and he took to Instagram to question why the #4 ranked featherweight wasn’t willing to fight at present:

While the post won’t have gone down well with Jung’s fans Ortega does pose a pertinent question. If other Korean fighters are able to compete in overseas UFC fights why is his opponent so adamant that the pandemic prevents him from travelling?

For anyone who isn’t up to speed with this particular saga it started last year when Ortega was booked to face Jung in the main event of UFC Busan. The American withdrew with an injury and the Korean Zombie made short work of replacement opponent Frankie Edgar.

Last month Ortega took to Instagram to accuse Jung of ducking him. He stated that a fight contract was on the table but the Korean was refusing to sign it.

This drew a rapid response from Jung who stated, “I am sure you are aware why I can’t go to the states at this time. If you would come to Korea , I am ready even in July. Otherwise, stay calm waiting for me.”

Korean fighters Da Un Jung and Jun Young Park are both scheduled to fight at UFC Fight Night: ‘Holm vs. Aldana’. The event is set to take place in Las Vegas on August 1st local time.

Ortega is currently at #3 in the official featherweight rankings. So a bout between him and Jung is likely to be a title eliminator, with the winner awarded a shot at the champion.

It seems clear that the UFC is looking to make this fight. Ortega appears enthusiastic about the prospect of finally fighting Jung and the social media war between the two looks set to rumble on.
