Chatri Sityodtong has shared his thoughts on this week’s ONE on TNT card. The event got off to a bad start when the lightweight fight between Eddie Alvarez and Iuri Lapicus ended in a DQ loss for the former UFC and Bellator champion.
In a Facebook post the ONE Championship CEO has called for Lapicus and Alvarez to fight again at the earliest opportunity:
In my wildest dreams, I could never have imagined that ONE on TNT 1 would debut with a DQ. I feel terrible for Iuri…

He also congratulated Adriano Moraes on establishing himself as the ‘greatest flyweight on the planet’ with the win over Demetrious Johnson. The former UFC 125lbs champion will be back ‘better, faster and stronger than ever’ according to Chatri.
Given the emphatic manner in which Moraes dispensed with Johnson he feels there is a debate to be had about whether the UFC champions would beat their ONE Championship counterparts. Chatri would like to settle the debate with a ‘world champion vs. world champion’ ONE vs UFC event.
This week’s card was the first in a series of four which will be broadcast on TNT during US prime time. The events will take place every Wednesday evening (US time) between now and the end of the month.
The ONE on TNT Part II card next week will be headlined by a lightweight title fight. Champion Christian Lee is set to face off against challenger Timofey Nastyukhin.
On April 21st (US time) John Wayne Parr will face Nieky Holzken in a lightweight kickboxing bout at ONE on TNT Part III. A bantamweight fight between John Lineker and Troy Worthen is also on that card.
The fourth and final event in the series is set for April 28th (US time). At ONE on TNT Part IV which is being broadcast live Aung La Nsang faces Vitaly Bigdash in a trilogy bout between two middleweight former champions.
