Evolve MMA has had to temporarily close its doors due to the coronavirus, or Covid-19. But the Singapore based camp will instead be offering daily online classes that are open to everyone.

According to Evolve MMA founder Chatri Sityodtong the online classes will run  every day from 9am to 9:15pm Singapore time. He gave more details in a Facebook post:

Anyone wishing to join in with the online classes can find them on the Evolve MMA Facebook or Youtube pages. There is a reduced schedule for today which looks like this:

6:30-7:15pm (SG time) Muay Thai
7:30-8:15pm (SG time) BJJ
8:30-9:15 (SG time) Boxing

The situation in Singapore appears to have deteriorated in recent weeks. All ‘centre based classes’ have been ordered to cease while gatherings of more than ten people are forbidden.

There are tight restrictions on who is allowed into the country. Short-term visitors with recent travel history to mainland China, France, Germany, Iran, Italy, South Korea and Spain are not allowed to enter or transit in Singapore.

Meanwhile anyone entering from an overseas country is required to stay at home for 14 days. So far there have been at least 844 coronavirus cases in Singapore but the government has been commended for its rapid response.

ONE: ‘Hope’ is currently scheduled for Singapore on April 17th and several fighters from Evolve MMA were set to feature on the card. However the new regulations will make it very difficult for the event to go ahead.
