ONE: ‘Reign of Dynasties’ will feature a flyweight fight between an undefeated prospect and a former title challenger. Reece McLaren will take on Aleksi Toivonen on October 9th.

Mclaren (13-7) is currently #5 in the ONE Championship flyweight rankings. He has fought ten times for the promotion and challenged for the bantamweight title in 2016.

He pushed bantamweight champion Bibiano Fernandes all the way en route to a split decision loss and dropped down a division the following year. The Australian is coming off a submission win over Gary Mangat at ONE: ‘Mark of Greatness’.

Toivonen (7-0-0-2) moved to Singapore after impressing at the Evolve MMA tryouts last year. He submitted Akihiro Fujisawa in the opening round at ONE: ‘Masters of Destiny’ last year.

Prior to that Toivonen had been competing exclusively in Scandinavia. The Finnish fighter is undefeated in his MMA career although two of his fights have finished in no contests.

In Muay Thai action Sam-A Gaiyanghadao will be defending the strawweight title against Josh Tonna. Like Toivonen the Thai fighter is based at Evolve MMA in Singapore.

Mclaren and Tonna are currently in Australia. There is no confirmation on where this card will take place but they will need to obtain a travel exemption from the government if they want to leave the country.
