Su Mudaerji’s reward for a win at UFC Fight Island 7 is a spot on the official flyweight rankings. The 25 year old’s decision victory over Zarrukh Adashev earned him the #14 spot.

Mudaerji’s record currently stands at 14-4. He is riding a three fight winning streak and has turned his UFC career around after losing in his debut.

The Tibet native was submitted by Louis Smolka at UFC Beijing in 2018. Having signed for the UFC on the back of a submission loss to ONE Championship veteran Hao Bin Ma it left Mudaerji in a precarious position.

But he was able to bounce back with a decision win over Andre Soukhamthath at UFC Shenzhen the following year. He had to wait until 2019 for an opportunity to fight outside of China and he made the most of it.

At UFC Vegas 15 Muadaerji scored a highlight reel knockout against Malcolm Gordon, finishing the flyweight in under a minute. He followed that up with a hard fought decision win over Adashev in Abu Dhabi last week.

The 25 year old has yet to face a ranked opponent. But that will surely change in 2021 and having popped up at #14 he will be looking to work his way up the rankings.

In a recent interview with AsianMMA.com he stated that he wanted to break into the top five in 2021. Muaderji could be just a win or two away from making that dream a reality.
