John Lineker has signed with ONE Championship, according to MMA Fighting. The Brazilian is a veteran of 16 UFC fights and will be competing in the bantamweight division.
Lineker holds a record of 31-9 which includes 12 UFC wins. The 29 year old had a reputation for being the most aggressive and entertaining fighter on the roster but had issues making 125lbs.
He will be competing in the bantamweight division for ONE Championship. The title is currently the property of Lineker’s compatriot Bibiano Fernandes, although it will be on the line when he faces Kevin Belingon for the fourth time at ONE: ‘Century’ in October.
Lineker is the latest in a long line of UFC fighters to sign with ONE Championship. He joins a list of names that includes Demetrious Johnson, Eddie Alvarez, Vitor Belfort, Yoshihiro Akiyama and Sage Northcutt.
Lineker fought in Asia on his UFC debut which took place in Macau. He scored a decision win over Yasuhiro Urushitani, who would also go on to sign with ONE Championship.
