Two bantamweight champions will do battle at ONE: ‘Heart of Heroes’. Alaverdi Ramazanov is putting his kickboxing belt on the line against reigning Muay Thai champion Nong-O Gaiyanghadao in Ho Chi Minh City.
The card will be the promotion’s second in Vietnam. Like ONE: ‘Immortal Triumph’, which was also headlined by Nong-O, it looks set to consist exclusively of kickboxing and Muay Thai bouts due to regulatory issues with MMA in the country.
Ramazanov won the belt by beating Zhang Chenglong at ONE: ‘Mark of Greatness’ last November. Nong-O has won all six of his ONE Super Series fights.
After winning the first five by decision he defended his Muay Thai title in decisive fashion last November. The 33 year old knocked out fellow Thai Saemapetch Fairtex at ONE: ‘Edge of Greatness’.
The other title fight features two promotional newcomers. The inaugural strawweight Muay Thai title will be on the line when Victoria Lipianska takes on Iman Barlow.
Barlow is the latest in a long line of English Muay Thai fighters to sign with ONE Championship. She joins Jonathan Haggerty, Liam Harrison and Andy Howson on the roster.
