Kana has come out and said she wants to sign for ONE Championship. The K-1 star is desperate to secure a fight with Anissa Meksen and has publicly asked Chatri Sityodtong to sign her.
Kana even tagged the ONE Championship CEO in a tweet where she declared that,
“I want to compete on the world’s best stage.”

Mutual respect
It is an interaction which clearly won’t be well received in the K-1 offices. ONE Championship signed Takeru earlier this year and Chatri recently made some withering remarks about the calibre of fighters remaining on the Japanese kickboxing promotion’s roster.
He clearly has a lot of respect for Kana and made it clear he would like her to sign for ONE Championship and fight Meksen,
“I would love to see you in ONE, Kana! if you want to fight Anissa in ONE, let’s do it!”
If Kana is currently a free agent then there doesn’t seem to be any obstacle standing in the way of this fight. A K-1 contract would make things very complicated though because there is absolutely no prospect of the two promotions working together.

Improved relations
Relations between Meksen and ONE Championship appear to be improving. Last month Chatri announced that his team were working hard to try and bring the French fighter back into the fold.
For her part this is the first time that Meksen has openly discussed the possibility of fighting for ONE Championship since no showing the weigh ins ahead of her fight with Stamp Fairtex in January. She had planned to continue competing in France but ran into some contractual issues.
Meksen has only fought four times in the past four years but she has won all of those bouts comfortably. Meanwhile Kana has won five in a row and is the reigning K-1 flyweight champion.
Janet Todd currently holds the ONE Championship atomweight kickboxing title. It is Meksen that Kana wants to fight though despite the French fighter’s current lack of silverware.
Meksen is also a former Glory super bantamweight champion. Between them her and Kana have held two of the biggest three titles in the kickboxing row and it seems they both have their sights set on winning another with ONE Championship.
