Ritu Phogat has been reinstated in the atomweight Grand Prix. The Indian is scheduled to face Meng Bo at ONE: ‘Empower’ on September 3rd.
Phogat was removed from the Grand Prix and replaced by Julie Mezabarba. She was subsequently replaced by Grace Cleveland but the Indian is now back in the tournament and the replacements have both been replaced.
Mezabarba (8-2-1) and Cleveland (5-0) are on the card but they will be fighting in alternate bouts. The Brazilian faces Mei Yamaguchi (21-12-1) while the Thai will take on the winner of the fight between Bi Nguyen (6-6) and Jenelyn Olsim (4-2) which is being broadcast next week at ONE: ‘Battleground’ Part III.
As previously announced the all female fight card will be headlined by a strawweight title fight with Xiong Jing Nan defending her belt against Michelle Nicolini. Anissa Meksen will take on Martine Michieletto in a strawweight kickboxing co-headliner.
The event will also feature the quarter finals of the atomweight Grand Prix. Former Rizin 108lbs champion Seo Hee Ham has been matched with #1 ranked Denice Zamboanga in the pick of the ties.
The winner will face either Stamp Fairtex or Alyona Rassohyna who meet in a rematch. On the other side of the bracket Phogat faces Bo while Itsuki Hirata has been matched with promotional newcomer Alyse Anderson.
