Takasuke Kume faces Satoru Kitaoka at Rizin 24
Rizin 24 is set for the Saitama Super Arena on September 27th. The first four fights for the card were released this afternoon including a lightweight bout between Takasuke Kume and Satoru Kitaoka.
Kume (23-6-3) was last seen in action at ONE: ‘Century’ Part II last year. He looked set to challenge for the Pancrase lightweight title but appears to have opted to sign with Rizin instead.
Kitaoka (42-20-10) hasn’t won a fight in nearly two years. His last two Rizin outings ended in defeats at the hands of Johnny Case and Roberto de Souza.
Also in the lightweight division Yusuke Yachi (21-10) faces Juri Ohara (26-18-3). The former also has recent losses to Case and de Souza on his record while the latter is coming off a stoppage win at Deep 95.
Before that Ohara had suffered back to back losses at the hands of Koji Takeda (10-1) who is also on the Rizin 24 card. The reigning Deep lightweight champion faces promotional newcomer Yuki Kawana (16-4-5) who was recently crowned as the Shooto 155lbs champion.
The other bout announced is in the bantamweight division. UFC veteran Takahiro Ashida (23-10-2) will be looking to build on his win at Deep 92 when he faces Kyohei Hagiwara (1-2) who is coming off a victory at Rizin 22.
As previously announced kickboxing superstar Tenshin Nasukawa will make his return to Rizin against former K-1 fighter Koji Tanaka at Rizin 24 on September 27th.
Rizin 24 will take place in front of a limited audience. The Saitama Super Arena will not be filled to capacity due to Covid-19 concerns.
