A strawweight kickboxing contest has been added to the ONE: ‘Empower’ card. Anissa Meksen will take on Martine Michieletto at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on May 28th.
Meksen hails from Holland is the former Glory super bantamweight (122lbs) champion. She successfully defended that title three times before losing it to Tiffany van Soest, an opponent she had beaten twice, in 2019.
Italian fighter Michieletto will also be making her ONE Championship debut. She holds the ISKA featherweight title and WMF featherweight title but has not faced as a high a standard of opposition as Meksen during her kickboxing career.
As previously announced ONE: ‘Empower’ is an all female fight card. In the main event Xiong Jing Nan will be defending her strawweight title against Michelle Nicolini.
The event will also feature the quarter finals of the atomweight Grand Prix. Former Rizin 108lbs champion Seo Hee Ham has been matched with #1 ranked Denice Zamboanga in the pick of the ties.
The winner will face either Stamp Fairtex or Alyona Rassohyna who meet in a rematch. On the other side of the bracket Ritu Phogat faces Meng Bo while Itsuki Hirata has been matched with promotional newcomer Alyse Anderson.
